Top 12 Free Essential WordPress Plugins You Should Try
With a growing list of more than 20,000 plugins, it is somewhat difficult to understand exactly what plugins to use! This is a quick summary of 12 essential WordPress plugins that every WordPress blog should have. The good news is (attime of writing), they are all free. Essential WordPress Plugins below relate to improving the functionality of WordPress, security, SEO and social marketing.
Safety should always be your first consideration when nothing is publicly available on the Internet – which is why I value WP-Secure as one of the most essential WordPress plugins around. Make no mistake – WordPress does a great job of native form of security to your blog while you keep the updated version. However, WP-Secure also enhances safety by removing a lot of information that could be used by hackers and remove certain confidential material of the user accounts, the preservation of this information on behalf of administrator. Great stuff!
Free WordPress Spam
Spam is a huge problem with WordPress blogs, making spam one of the most essential plugins for WordPress plugin. I use WordPress spam-free, which seems to do pretty well. Over a period of six months, it was blocked more than 8,000 spam comments, a number that seems to grow exponentially. Now imagine having to go through 40-50 spam comments a day! A major reason is that we use plugins to save time and free WordPress spam achieves these goals!
W3 Total Cache / Wp Super Cache
After security and spam are served, site speed is the next thing that comes to mind. Nobody will wait about 30 seconds for your website to load, so that site speed is essential. Now I will talk about some essential WordPress plugins that help boost your website. The first is W3 Total Cache. This plugin is very popular, downloaded nearly 1.2 million times! It helps to speed up your site, to improve server performance, caching every aspect of your website, which reduces download time and provide content delivery network (CDN) for a seamless integration. In short, it is faster to your WordPress blog!
WordPress is driven database. The basic data more efficient, faster pages can be accessed from the database, the faster your site loads its visitors. However, over time, a WordPress database may be contaminated with useless information (such as deleted content, comment spam, old revisions pages etc). This increases the size of the database and increase the access time to the database. The end result – your pages take longer to open. WP Optimize your database automatically cleans and maintains agile data by removing unnecessary information on a continuous basis.
WP Database Backup
Back up your site on daily, weekly if you can’t than once in a month because if some problem occured in Database or others problems so you will loose your all data so for this purpose always back up your site for safety. You can do that easily by using this plugin. The only downside of this plugin is that it is a little difficult to restore from if something happens to your site. There are alternatives plugins out there that are much easier to use, such as backup friends, but this is unfortunately not a free plugin, the $ 75 price for 2 WordPress sites.
Broken Link Checker
There is nothing more frustrating than clicking on a link and get the error “page not found”. While this is frustrating for visitors, but also generally has the effect of pushing the visitor (and potential customer) from your website. The Broken Link Checker can follow links in your posts, pages, comments, fields and reports of broken links and blogroll customized, either by your WordPress dashboard, or email.
Google XML Sitemaps
There are hundreds, if not thousands of SEO related plugins. Only a handful of them I consider essential WordPress plugins. The first is Google XML Sitemaps. A site map is essentially a road map of its website, highlighting all individual pages and how they relate to each other – their structure. Google and other search engines use these sitemaps to crawl and index your site more effectively. Google XML Sitemaps automatically creates a sitemap and keep it updated as new content is added. In addition, all the major search engines is also notifies each time you create and publish content.
SEO By Yoast / All in One SEO Pack
All in One SEO / SEO By Yoast is the most popular SEO plugins for WordPress blogs. It helps to optimize pages and messages that automatically generate meta tags and helps you optimize the website title. The great thing about the All in One SEO Pack / SEO By Yoast is that it is fully functional out of the box, requiring limited configuration, making it ideal for new WordPress and SEO.
Follow me last
Perhaps my “favorite” essential WordPress plugins here. Last Follow Me is actually a sidebar widget for WordPress that connects to your Facebook, Twitter,LinkedIn and other social media platforms. Now it also includes Google +1, which is generally considered an important way to increase your ranking in search engines.
I demo’d a number of these social marketing plugins. While all do pretty much the same, Follow Me Ultimate usually icons of social networks “nicer” one bit. There are many sizes to choose and looks great in the sidebar – are your visitors that you will not miss it!
Another essential WordPress plugins that I can not do without! The plugin automatically creates a great little social marketing bar at the bottom of your posts where people can post your Facebook, Twitter your Twitter account, or share in many, many social bookmarking sites. At the time of this writing, supports Shareaholic 85 Sites! It also comes in 3 flavors, classic markers, sexy and sassy favorites markers. Once you have decided that using social sites Shareaholic automatically saves the links at the bottom of each page or post – even if you have the opportunity to cancel the plugin on a per page for non-represented. Google Analytics Dashboard Google Analytics Dashboard follows visitors to each of your pages in your WordPress dashboard, so no need to access your Google Analytics account! You are also able to integrate parts of analytical positions directly or as part of your theme. A warning of this plugin is that it shows the full information you get from your Google Analytics account. They do not give you the basic information you need to see what’s visit, it is all I seek in my Analytics account anyway.
Links to Page
For me personally, this is one of the most essential WordPress plugins that I use. I use it mainly as regards the content that I use on the first page. The descriptions cover Blogs generally take the first 200 characters or less that the page of the actual item and display advertising wordage. The problem is that sometimes I do not want to use the first 200 characters of my articles as shown in the cover of my wordage this article, so I do what? I can create an additional page, with the words you want to use, and use the plugin uses to redirect the page to the actual load.
